Chaincy Kuo is a geophysicist, joining FUEGO after terms as a Project Scientist in the Climate and Ecosystem Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. From research in the public and private sector, she has extensive experience on detection of low-count signals by novel instrumentation, and deriving physical parameters through application of inverse theory on forward modeled multi-spectral data. She is a Contributing Author on and served as the Chapter Scientist to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report Working Group I: the Physical Science Basis chapter on Short-Lived Climate Forcers, published in 2021. She received both her Ph.D. in Geophysics, and B.A. in Astrophysics from U.C. Berkeley.
